The process of construction of THE COLOSSEUM took several roman emperors reign, when it was finally completed. This immense Amphitheatre then could accommodate more than 50’000 spectators, watching gladiators fighting predacious animals, always ending with death.
The efficient plan of many separate entrances, reserved only for emperors and the elite, plus nearly another hundred for the exits are being copied for today’s Super Bowl Stadiums.
However, this monument is to remind us of the temptation for gladiotional spectacle.
