Lucerne with it 76’000 people is the seventh-largest city in Switzerland. Located in the central of the country on the shore of lake “Vierwaldstättersee”, within reach of the Swiss Alps, Lucerne has long been a popular destination for tourists.
The city’s most famous landmark is the 14th century CHAPEL BRIDGE “Kapellbrücke”. The wooden bridge crosses the Reuss River, part way across, stands the octagonal Water Tower, a fortification from the 13th century.
The city of Lucerne has recently applied for the UNESCO World Heritage Site for the Chapel Bridge with its Tower.
