Hole 13 / GREAT WALL of China
Located at China
Built 200 BC – 16th Century AD
Length 6’350 Km
It is hard to imagine that this project was once designed just to hold back the barbarian invaders from the North in the 6th century BC.
Many died during the construction of the actual Great Wall under the rule of the Han Dynasty (206 BC – 22 AD), the Sui Dynasty (581 – 618 AD) and the Tang Dynasty (618 – 906 AD) and was still losing ground to the Manchurian and Mongolian tribes.
The Great Wall as it stands now is largely work the Ming Dynasty in the 15th century AD.
When in 1644 a Chianese General opened the gates for the enemy to seize Beijing, the last of the Chinese Imperial Dynasty was found: The Qing until 1911.
